Henry Siebert planted our family’se vines on the east side of the Russian River Valley when he was 80. One hillside vineyard was saved as best and last. Ken Moholt-Siebert helped plant it, as did Arnulfo Becerra, who continues to lovingly prune and tend the vines. Joe Freeman is the wonderful winemaker and Melissa Moholt-Siebert is commander-in-chief.
We hand picked and sorted the grapes on September 12, 2009, cold-soaked for optimal extraction, aged for 18 months in 100% French Oak (30% new) and made 650 cases. Melissa, Ken, Arnulfo, and Joe bring this wine from our hillside vineyard to your glass. Here’s to Henry!
“Inspired by the iconic oak tree presiding over the vineyard, Ancient Oak Cellars 2009 Siebert Ranch Pinot Noir contains a welcoming blend of ripe, sweet flavors combined with a fresh berry aroma.”
