Ancient Oak Cellars Tò Érgon – Berger Vineyard

The wines in our Reserve Series stand out in dramatic ways.  When we first tasted these wines in the fermentor, we were in awe.  These are wines that we are simply very lucky to be able to conduct in their journey from vine to bottle.  The receive extended aging in barrel and then again in bottle.

Tò Érgon means “the work” or “the deed.”  This is the ultimate expression of these low-yielding vines on our Berger Vineyard, located next to the famed Laurel Glen vineyard on Sonoma Mountain. Intensely dark in color, an alluring bramble character, and concentration in the mid-palate.  A broad-shouldered, rich, muscular wine.  Aged more than 24 months in barrel.

Deep garnet in color, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Tò Érgon offers a meaty/gamey nose over a core of crème de cassis and dried Mediterranean herbs. The palate is richly fruited and medium to full-bodied, with firm, chewy tannins supporting the generous flesh, finishing long and meaty.”  — Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
