Grapes awakening in the Russian River Valley

Arnulfo has been working long days in the vineyard, wanting to finish the winter pruning before the grapes bud out.  Already the pruning cuts are weeping with sap where he cuts them.  The sap is bright and crystal clear, catching the sun like a prism.  Arnulfo is very focused and does not want distractions.  He has been pruning for 10 weeks now, and his hand knows the shape of the pruning-shear handles all too well!  He is into Block 3, which is the lowest block and therefore the last to be pruned.  Less than two acres, Arnulfo will be done with Block 3 well before the end of the month.
